The Old Folks Home

I've had a real rough couple of days. I was prepared for nausea, diarrhea, fatigue, etc. All the usual suspects of chemo. Nope. This stuff has seriously chemically burned my whole mouth, lips, throat... Blisters, and burned, peeling skin. I went to the cancer hospital for it this morning. Such pain. I can swallow, but it hurts so bad. They did give me 2 things to help oral rinses to numb, they're not much help, and they don't last long. They admitted, it was to give enough relief, so I could "eat" a little. Nothing solid, or warm. Ice cream, yogurt, popsicles, pureed peaches, and bananas. No pureed strawberries, or acidic fruits, no solids, etc.

Store this in the back of your mind for future use, if needed: Rinse your mouth with Whole Milk, or Half & Half. It coats, and soothes wonderfully.

:hugs Geez I’m so sorry you’re going through that! The tip to rinse with high fat dairy is a great one! I hope you get relief very soon!

Finally after about 2 years got another injection into my bad shoulder and another appointment is being made for deep in the hip injections for left and right. If they keep working on me I'm going to be another 6 Million Dollar Man.
You forgot inflation!
