The Old Folks Home

Good Morning Old Folks. I thought I could see a few small patches of light frost this morning out the window. Going to be patient to find out if it was frost and just not a heavy dew. I don't like to be out in 37° weather. If I did I'd still be living on the Cumberland Plateau in TN.

Good morning, OF. Another day of getting ready for Thanksgiving dinner.

Can you tell I don't do this very often, like once or twice a year?

Today is (hopefully) my last trip into civilization until after the 4 day weekend. I need to get the last bunch of groceries, some hydraulic fluid for the plow, and another blade for the chainsaw. (Hubby likes to have 2-3 on hand. Makes sense to me.)

There is no way, short of emergency or large amounts of money (numbers that have 6 or 7 digits before the decimal point), that I will go anywhere on Black Friday. Just cannot go into that crowd of humanity and not go mad.

Remember the "inner child" stuff from days gone by? My sanity is like that. "No, no, little sane Sally, I promise I won't make you go to the mall, or drive down 28th Street in Grand Rapids. You can just stay home here with hubby, the dog, and the chickens."

A long time ago, I worked in a mall. Christmas time was definitely NOT the most wonderful time of the year.
