I am not beyond such doings, but there are little kids in the neighborhood. They have even come to the door and thanked us for decorating. One year I told the Princess, "I am not doing this next year." That night a little girl rang the door and said, "I look forward to this every year. Thank you so much." The Princess, with a big smile, heard - I mentally said 'screwed'.

Ok FINE...... then just put a can of coke in the bears mouth.... and hang candy canes on something.

Good evening Old Folks. No outside decor here but do have a tiny Christmas tree on a table and my wife made a tree from an inverted tomato cage wrapped in decor. Have great grand kids here for Christmas for the first time I think. We are having Christmas here on the farm for the first time.

We brought all the Christmas decorations and such down set it up in a few days.

We will probably put our tree up on Christmas Eve. I could live without it, but hubby will get it out and want to put it up. It's a fiber optic tree, and actually quite pretty.

We used to get a live potted tree and plant it in the spring, but too many of them died. Not to mention the mess, and trying to buy a live potted tree in December, and how heavy they are, and did I mention the mess?

We haven't done anything else to decorate in many years. The last time we did outdoor lights, a friend from Oklahoma was visiting. We wanted to have lights on an outside tree in the snow for her.

Aren't you dealing with the Santa Annas, Ron?

Been following the news with the firestorms in the southern part of the state.

Sorry to take so long replying! It has been busy here.

We are far enough away to not have Santa Anna winds here. We had a big atmospheric river storm yesterday. Driving to work was rough!

Glad to hear that Ron. People outside the midwest always say that they wouldn't live here because of the threat of tornadoes and blizzards but frankly, couldn't get me anywhere where wildfires were a regular threat.

DH inherited property down in central Florida that we wound up selling. Every winter when the wind chill is -20 I say....we sold the property in Florida. He always responds with one word....Hurricanes. Ummm yeah, I'd rather risk tornadoes and blizzards thank you.
