The Old Folks Home

Are you getting all pullets, or getting a cockerel too? For those who don't know, they are sexable at hatch by their down coloring.

My Bielefelders are my friendliest birds.
8 pullets and 3 boys. Yes they are auto sexing like the legbars we raise. Same color patterns in chicks and adults in the two breeds. I have a couple dozen home grow pullets that will be paired with 2 of the extra Bielefelder boys.

And pretty too. Good morning, OF.
I'm sure all the roosters will have eyes for them....

Late yesterday afternoon when we turned out the Legbar coop which is 8 hens, 1 rooster, & 1 less than 2 month old cockerel we watched the little cockerel try to mount a 2 month old Legbar pullet from another flock that was out for recess. He courted that little pullet for half an hour and all she wanted was to feed on tender grass and greens. That little cockerel is barely weaned from his mom.

Old folks, have a legitimate question. How many of you still enjoy a Diet Coke? It seems like anyone born after the turn of the century considers it to be literal poison.
I have never liked diet sodas. They taste off to me. I do not believe that they are that poisonous though. People tend to over react to food issues.

I still have a problem eating lard base products but lard is on the good list now.

I use bacon grease on cast iron all the time.
I recall DH asked me to get lard and I did.
He put it on the cast iron griddle we cook eggs on.
I hid his lard!
