The Old Folks Home

Cashew was from a litter of golden pups I raised. All the others were perfect and went to loving homes. Cashew was born with a short, fat curved tail that looked like a cashew nut stuck to her butt when she was born. The name stuck and I spoiled her because she was "special." I didn't want her to go to anyone else who might use her for breeding, so I kept her. She was a great dog and the tail was not too noticable once her fringe grew in. She was a perfect pet for the boys. We do miss her........

Yes, post pictures! I also love the German Shorthair. Beautiful dogs. When I hunted birds years ago, we use the English Setter. I love the pointers. Now? I own a dog that is supposed to be a hunting dog..but not mine! LOL..A flushing hunting dog. Well, had to get pictures of my Golden in the snow. Of course they don't mind the snow, they are also supposed to be a water dog. Mine likes the water, I just haven't used him as a hunter, he's a big baby.

My Toby

I threw his ball into some deep snow, I do this every year. I love to see his nose at work.

This is intense for him, he knows it's in there somewhere

I think he caught the scent!

Oh yeah!

Found it! I love this big guy. :)

Great story, and handsome dog face!

He looks like he'd be a great cuddler in the dead of winter.

He's a cuddle boy. Wants right up against you, and, as most goldens do, up goes that paw when you are sitting and he comes up to you. They love to put their paws on you.

Anyone else getting snow? We got more last night, but not as much as the night before..kind of glad about that! My chickens in the big coop have a heated water bowl, the others have their water under the heat lamp ~ works great.

I have a cat who does that. He either jumps in my lap when I'm reading, or jumps on the bed, snuggling right up close so he can touch my nose. Paw on the nose means, "pet me", and is not welcome when I'm reading ..... OR at 3 AM.

Pets are amazing ... it's really something to see how much they love their owners.

This is the little terror That lives at my house. She is a Cuddle Puppy.

One day my Daughter was driving home and saw her waking by a Park.

Her name is Riley and we rescued her.

Edited to add: She is all trimmed up now, so you can see her eyes. This is a first picture after the rescue.

Quote: My Daughter absolutely loves her. We did the whole adoption thing from the shelter with the locator chip, shots and license. She is a definite keeper

Reminds me of the little sheepdog cross I had growing up, Clementine. She was a great dog. Love the eyes hidden behind fur.
