The Old Folks Home

I have a mini Dachshund! How did yours like the snow? I knowbmine shivers with the smallest drafts. Lol

He didn't like the snow at first, but when I went out to take care of the chickens, he started getting into the deep part, jumping up and down like a weasel. Then came in and shivered. His coloring is called Piebald. We love him.

DiDi, I love Collies and Shelties. Shelties look like mini Collies, but I realize they aren't. I will have to get a picture of my Golden playing in the snow. The golden being my favorite large breed.
We had a break in the snow, but getting more now. Supposed to snow all day.

Mine is a german red shorthair. Not the fawnish red you see in most. He is DARK. I should upload pics of him.

Yes, post pictures! I also love the German Shorthair. Beautiful dogs. When I hunted birds years ago, we use the English Setter. I love the pointers. Now? I own a dog that is supposed to be a hunting dog..but not mine! LOL..A flushing hunting dog. Well, had to get pictures of my Golden in the snow. Of course they don't mind the snow, they are also supposed to be a water dog. Mine likes the water, I just haven't used him as a hunter, he's a big baby.

My Toby

I threw his ball into some deep snow, I do this every year. I love to see his nose at work.

This is intense for him, he knows it's in there somewhere

I think he caught the scent!

Oh yeah!

Found it! I love this big guy. :)

What an awesome dog!! Goldens are so sweet.

GSP look regal, that dark coloring, is it like a dark liver, or dark chocolate--very pretty.

Haven't met a dog I don't like.

Cynthia, what a sweet face Toby has!

When I saw the pics of Toby, I said. "Oh look, he looks like Cashew!" Cashew was our Golden. We lost her to old age just before moving to our current home. My DS#2 put his arm around my shoulder and said, "Momma, don't look at it too long, you might cry." My boys flip flop between thinking I am the strongest mom in the world to thinking I am a sentimental old sap. I guess both views are accurate!

My Weinie loves to use his sniffer. we have a big property, So he gets to roam and we will be walking to the pens and one second he is there, then another , Poof! Gone. Later after I am done feeding or watering the chickens, I will see him either jumping around the tall grass like a rabbit, or he will be on the other side of the yard sniffing in holes or something.

I will see if I have pics on here..

I love Golden Retrievers. a guy down the road has one...Won't let me fish, he will chase the bobber or wherever the bait splashes... LOL

Aww, I know what it's like to lose one of these. I had my first one pass just a few years ago. I knew he was going, so I got Toby. They were buddies for the winter, but he had to be put down in the spring. He could hardly walk. All of the legs were going. Shoulders popping out, back legs wouldn't bend. I had him cremated and he is in our room. I had had him since he was 6 weeks old, and almost 10 when he was put down. He had the big block square head. This dog has some of that, but not like my Grizz. :) Cashew..what a great name for a golden!
