I will say that out of the 4 OE chicks I have here, the lone boy is turning out super cute. His barring is coming in nicely, and he's just pretty. (He's a black Am x Cuckoo Marans mix.)

Have oe eggs hatching as we speak. Thought hey were due tomorrow.
my barred oe hens are cuckoo marans X blue Amerucana no x with a silver cuckoo from a very dark egg
my other hens are black oe are black amerucana roo X bcm nice color eggs for first x in with very dark BCM
Have to slapping my hands not open bator.
It only means I have to keep more chicks. the olive eggs in the back.

Just wanted to share two of my new olive egger prospects. My Wheaten Marans Hen X Lav. Ameraucana Roo. Power went out last Wed. PM for 16 hours. Of course, went out in the middle of the night! When we realized it, temps in the inc. were down in the 80's. Cut the cords on the hova bator and hooked up to a car battery. It discharged quickly and after another couple of hours temp was down in the 80's again. Drove in 8 inches of fresh snow to buy a new battery and got the inc. up to temp. for the rest of the power outage. Lockdown was Sat. PM and I was a little worried to say the least. Well, 20 out of 21 eggs hatched, happy, healthy chicks (an assortment from my breeding pens: Dels, BCM, Olive Eggers, Easter Eggers, Wellsummers)!!! I think this was one of my best hatches ever :)
