I collected more eggs before setting so I have 14 in the incubator.

they look great Ron.
Be sure to show me some pics of the chicks
Good News! The Crele Penedesenca is doing fine!

8 have easy to see veins. 2 are iffy and 4 look like clears. It is only day 6 so they are all in there but this is very good for the first hatch after putting them into a breeding pen.

Im anxiously awaiting some possilbe OE to hatch. Have a wheaten ameraucana with the possibiltiy of a cross with BCM roo, Barnevelder roo or an orp. Hoping it will have been the bcm boys or the barnevelder. I love the olive color eggs.

Yes!! She is back laying again.

I think I'm going to make some Oliver Eggers and join this Olive Egg craze.
I have a Blue Copper rooster, think I'll put in some of my bluish colored EE's (just 2 or 3). I have one solid blue and 4 that have blue and gold to their coloring (not sure what to call the coloring on them). Some look like those black/gold (classic color) but have blue in place of black.
I think maybe these will make some lovely ciolored babies.

I hope you get some nice ones!

Well bummer. The two black Ameraucanas (black X lavender) I bought as pullets aren't. They're cockerels.

Can I lurk here anyway?

It was suggested to keep the best one and put him over BCM pullets, but hey, I have too many males as it is. IF I do this once (because they have to get to a decent butcher weight anyway), can I then successfully (for OE) take any pullets back to the BCM (or blue copper)? Does it matter which sex is which color when you do this? I know lots of folks put a BCM over Am pullets and then backcross to the BCM for better olive color, but I'm a newbie. I know it's not the same as a backcross to a BCM sire, but...

Is it just me, or have olive eggers really become popular in the last few months? It seems that everyone is hatching them for the NYD Hatch (including myself!!!!).

I tried to get olive eggers last year (I have a brinsea mini advanced (7 eggs max)), and got 2 OE roos last year. This year I'm trying again... I only put 2 in the bator, and one was cracked (i patched it with wood glue), so we'll see if I can get at least one hen to add to my flock.
