The Olive-Egger thread!

I find that the colors my olive eggers lay varies from day to day. Sometimes greener, sometimes browner, rather than progressing in one direction. I kind of like the variation, although if you are after a specific color, it may be frustrating.

this is mostly due to the brown egg shell trait, it will vary from time to time..

I don't think it's possible to know that, as one could get an OE in almost any color

I can't tell from the pics but a Pea Comb is the key.... Pea Combs are MOST LIKELY to produce an olive egger.

I would not rule out the straight combs either. I had 2 Barnevelder x blue Ameraucana hens with straight combs that both laid a nice olive egg.
