Thank you I didn't know that. Almost all EEs huh? So what should I breed her with for higher odds for offspring that lay blue?

That is a PRETTY BLUE EGG. I would just breed them together and see if they breed true.... meaning the offspring look like the parents. WheatEns will add good color if they lay a good color egg. At 3 weeks you might be able to tell gender on the wheatens.... can you post pics?

She is a F1 cross (BW Ameraucana roo X Wheaten Marans), her egg is at the top of the photo.

I will have to take some new pics since there grown now but here is a couple when they were smaller... There are a couple brwn eggers in there also the bigger chickens

Woo hoo! Got my first blue egg today!
I got two roo's & 4 pullets from a neighbor. I know they're EE's but they didn't know breeds/mix. This is the rooster and one of the girls I got from them. She layed her 1st egg today & yea, it is blue! !



I saw a post in "animals in need of free re-homeing" saying that his rooster was an americauna. He looked just like the two roosters I got with the pullets. Does anyone think the girl that layed my blue bullet shaped surprise could have Americauna in her?

I have a hen that looks just like yours but she hasn't laid yet. The oldest roo I have, my rainbow bow looks a little bit like yours, but over his back has all different colored feathers, looking forward to seeing what kind of babies theymake

Your wheaten lays that green egg? I understand she's a cross..but it's so nice how she looks like a pure wheaten! my wheaton looks like yours here, but lays the blue like yours pictured here..of course. I need to breed her to a what? I have to find a rooster to send her to. lol..not sure if that's done. Like you do when you breed a dog. I can't have roosters, but I do know folks with Marans! That, is a pretty green egg! Here's my girl..more color in her body than yours..but this is just a face shot. Orange eyes!!

So if she was bred to a marans, or what else, would could I breed her with to get offspring
that would lay the olive color? She's a sweetheart.

Ok I just had two baby's hatch out of brown eggs the only Roos I have are EE what color will their eggs be mommy hen are either buff Orpington or rhode island red
