Hello
I am searching for olive egger hatching eggs.Love to hear from you folks thank you
Whoa. Serious chicken math going on here . . .Hi all, I'm so glad to find this thread! I'm T. I'm pretty new to BYC & have been a chicken mama for almost a year now. Love my babies(young & old)!
My flock has grown A LOT especially in this new year. Ive learned so much from you all as Ive been growing the flock & gain knowledge & the courage to expand. I started with my late fathers "old girls" then bartered with a fella from walters for a bunch of girls (had no idea what I was doing, just picked the ones I liked) a cukoo maran, a bantam Brahma, red laced wyandotte, a blue andalusian, 2 leg horns(?) & 3 EE's who have all just started laying. I'm so happy!
Then I bought three barred rock pullets(one turned out to be a little cockrel) a black & a white pullets that are about six mo. old. Now I have finally found two young EE Roo's that are good boys & my girls love them. (Even the old hens!!)
Then last week I purchased 10 buff orphington & 5 white laced wyandotte chicks 2 to 2-1/2 week old!(OMG they are SO cute!) & ended up coming home with 5 baby ducks as well. Couldn't help myself!
Now that I have told you about my flock I'm so excited to say I finally got my very first olive egg saturday! TWO today! I am so happy to share with peeps like me who love a colorful egg basket!
I look forward to learning more about breeding and egg colors as I now feel confident to try my hand at hatching my own.
I'm trying not to get too excited as I am just learning & so many things can go wrong, but I have my eggs stored & am running my incubator (pre 24hr) with high hopes of success in 21days! Setting tomorrow (if I can find a thermometer/hygrometer in the morning)!
Thanks for the referral Jason. I am three weeks behind on my reading on this forum. So much reading, so little time.Deann at Just Struttin may have some of her nice Crele Penedesenca x creme legbar olive eggers
Can you tell me if you have a web site and what will be the cost to ship to the east coast.
Thanks for the referral Jason. I am three weeks behind on my reading on this forum. So much reading, so little time.
I have lots of OE eggs available. I currently have three OE projects
#1 Crele Penedesenca X Cream Legbar
#1B Offspring from OE #1 project X Cream Legbar
#2 OE (Amer X BCM) X DLBB
I am working on getting more pictures of both projects.
I know what you mean. I'm a dog person. And cats. Mammals all the way. Even the occasional marsupial (opossum babies have to be tube fed.) Figured when we started raising rabbits and chickens I'd be all about the bunnies, but NO. What is it about these raptors I find so endearing? Even knowing they would eat me alive if I was helpless on the gound??LOL CottonGinWaste-
I'm so happy to have the room to be able to have so many sweeties and characters. Never knew I would love these critters so much! And grateful to find folks to chicken chat with. Hubby & son roll their eyes & get a blank stare when I start talking chicken!
Yeah, You could say I've got a bad case of chicken math
