The Olive-Egger thread!

Quote: I have tried to hatch Partridge Penes a couple of times and the hatching eggs were some of the darkest eggs I have ever seen! Hard to hatch when shipped though. I do have a Partridge Pene pullet and she laid her first egg yesterday.

This is a Blue Marans egg on the left and the P Pene on the right. This is her first egg so I expect they will get darker too!

For those asking about Jason's Creles, I hatched 4 of his this weekend. They are Auto Sexing too!

1 boy and 3 girls:

I have 7 Cl X CP(Cream Legbar crossed with Crele Penne) chicks--12 weeks old. Here is one at 10 weeks:

How cute is that! Auto Sexing and sure to lay very pretty eggs! I will let you know what they lay. I also have Marans OE and Blue Barnie OEs. I will have three types of these guys!

Very nice! Please post eggs when they all start laying!

The first ones are the worst. I thought the same, thing with my girls. That will be when my chicks get older and i find out what I get breeding back to my Lavender Am.

Hi took a picture of the Partridge Pene's first three eggs. They are getting bigger and darker.

The dark one from today is next to an EE egg from today. If you mixed them, would you get a good Olive green?

My Frizzle OE is 4 weeks old this weekend. Comb has grown quite a bit but is still pale. Do you think there is any chance this is a pullet? I want to keep her so badly, she is the prettiest thing Ive ever seen!

Well, here is the 5 week update. . . . I approach the brooder every morning dreading finding a bright red comb on this cutie! Not a ton of changes since last week but he/she has sprouted a crest!
