The Olive-Egger thread!

I had two hens go broody the same day I set eggs in the incubator. They all hatched the same day as well =) It was the first time I've had a broody hen, and it is beyond cute. Thanks for sharing your pics Peach2u!

Yesterday one of my OE went broody. She is sitting on golf balls till I make room for her in the broody box. I have a double rabbit hutch that has 2 nest boxes on the back, with a divider. I have 2 broodies with chicks at the moment. I will have to move the 8 day olds and mom to the main coop in a day or two. Then I will have an open nest box for her. Today I have to figure out what eggs to put back. OE roo over BCM or OE over EE or OE. Guess the EE and OE. They seem to sell the best. Now F1 or F2's lol I guess I'll see who lays the most this week.

I ordered some OE chicks! They will be here the end of June. I'm so excited for them. Are the chicks easy to sex early on or do you have to wait until they are older?

Oh darn, and they're SO handsome too. I'm in NW Washington. A little far away. I can't have a rooster in my neighborhood....just hens. I just wanted his services for a short while <wink wink>. Thanks for the offer though!
quote: Yep, I do. Only thing is, I need to find a rooster!

If you are in California I can help you with that!
I have two FBCM cockerels listed on buy sell trade that need a new home.
Here's one of the pics.

I had a super hard time with my FBCM x Wheaten Ameracauna... Finally couldn't deny it with the curly greenish tail and beautiful coloring... :) Adopted him out today. :(
