The Olive-Egger thread!

I am thinking of selling my Olive Eggers and was just wondering what everyone thought would be a good price. They are a little over a year old. I have one rooster( very handsome) and three hens. What does everyone think??

if they are not too old you can probably get about 15 a hen. you will probably have to make someone take the rooster as a package.

Alright folks another question. I have some 2nd generation olive eggers that I hatched out of one of my bcm roos and 2 buff colored OEs...problem is I Hatched them out with a few of my pure bred bcms. I have a couple that I am going back and forth on what they are. My OEs are bearded so my question is will all of the OE chicks be bearded and will they all have feathered legs from the bcm roo? A couple of the black chicks have me stumped. And are they most likely to be buff colored? That seems to be the case. Thanks.

So far with my experience they may or may not be bearded and may or may not have feathered legs( if they do it is probably very light feathering. If your BCM roo is the father then the chicks will most likely be black. My BCM Rooster with my EE hens only throws me black chicks. In the future maybe try to do the hatches separate. I don't hatch my BCMs with My Black Sexlinks because the pullet sexlinks and the BCM chicks look so similar.

Do you have pics of the chicks? We may be able to help you figure out who is who.

I can get pics. I have a lot of yellow/brown chicks out of this cross. I waited a week before I kept any eggs after I put them together.

I believe so I figured a week was long enough...I am going to grow them out and see what they lay anyway but thought I'd see what you all thought.

One rooster can keep a hen fertile for up to 3 weeks after she has been with him so your hens can lay fertile eggs from both the different roosters and then hatch chicks that either rooster could have fathered so chances are the other rooster may be one the who fathered the chicks.
