okay, that's good to know. Thanks. They will hatch now. 45G for Large fowl to about 70G is optimal but any fertile egg will hatch. Hatch rate goes down for too small or too large but that is just hatch rate. It is only one factor.
Beautiful colors! I'm not hatching yet. So far I only have two really OLIVE egg layers that I would care to hatch from. Out of 7 OE pullets only 2 lay a nice olive egg. 2 lay greenish eggs, 1 speckled wellie (ish) egg, and 2 plain brown. So I'm asking myself what is thier hatchmate rooster bringing to the mix? Brown, green, speckled or lovely olive. The odds don't seem to be in my favor
they look great Ron.
Be sure to show me some pics of the chicks
Very Nice!I just set a variety of olive eggs from different crosses with 2 roos. It's my first run in my homemade cabinet incubator, so who knows what results I'll get. There are also ameraucana, new hampshire, a marans/barred rock cross, and two oliver/welsummer crosses that contributed to this batch. It will be fun banding any peepers I get.
