I just set some olive eggs yesterday from hens that I crossed back to my Black Copper Marans rooster, I can't wait to see how the eggs from those pullets will look.
I have some 8 week old pullets now that I don't what they are going to lay this spring.
I gave the science teacher some eggs to hatch, some were from my easter eggers and some were from eggers that I hatched last year and crossed with my marans rooster, but he didn't keep track of what hatched.
He brought me back 10 chicks but I haven't got a clue which is which.
The hens are all black but I notice a couple of them are getting beards so I figure those are my first generation olive eggers from the easter egger x marans.
The ones without the beards, am wondering if the second generation can lose some of the easter egger characteristics when crossed back to a marans.
Any thoughts? Has anyone else noticed this to be true?

That was my Americauna roo, Eduardo. All of my hens lay brown eggs ( RIR's, Buff O's , Barred R's) except for the 2 americauna girls. So technically if I allow any eggs to set I will get olive colored eggs ??? (except the EE hens ). But if I let the barred rocks 's eggs set they will be sex-linked, right ? (unless he is dominant white )

it's material... either a scarf, a sweater, a blanket, or just a piece....

i have a scarf made from that stuff and it's hot fushcia.... it's all soft and cuddly.....
