The Olive-Egger thread!

Congrats on the babies! Sorry you didn't get any blues though.

The 4 olive eggers I have from you (via Mary), I have 2 boys and 2 girls. The one with 3 rows on the pea comb is a boy.

But the blue is a pullet!!!!

Are you SURE the one w/three rows of peas is a boy? Absolutley, completely sure? Let me find a pic of one I thought was a boy but ended up being a gorgeous pullet, and is the momma of some of yours, likely. I'll be back in a few!

Okay, here she is - three VERY distinct rows of peas, and she's 4 weeks in this pic. The rows got bigger/wider as she grew, too:

Did the comb turn pink by 5 weeks of age? Cuz mine has a light pink comb, so I'm pretty sure it's a boy. It's still itty bitty though. And the funny thing is the other boy looks exactly like a BCM cockeral. (and he is very obviously a boy) If I could upload photo's I'd show you.

I'd love to see what the chickens and resulting eggs look like when you breed a Welsummer to an Ameraucana. I have Welsummer and Ameraucana hatching eggs coming, so it will be a long time till I can do the cross myself.
