Getting a big coop this weekend, and will be getting my beautiful Egger girl next week hopefully

I am so excited, she is DDG (drop dead georgous) and looks real similar to her sister except the gold hackle feathers. After I move and can have more I will probably get some Ameraucana's from a great breeder in Fresno. Or maybe an incubator...! And some more Egger Eggs!! LOL Addictive it is. I really love the appearence of Wynette's OEs, and the boys?? Forget about it! Those boys are some handsom fella's!

You found pics of Isabel Birchens? Honestly?

The closest I could say they look like are these images to guide -

They're like a Porcelain, but without the spangling/mottling.

Nope, no pics yet. Camera is still acting funny, and for the few times I get it working, the OE's just aren't in good weather or lighting to get good photos.

btw those "Isabel Birchen" pullets may look it but honestly I think the owner just has some khaki running around in their flock. It would make sense for the weird splashy light colors and also the really dark partridge bird, too.

Nicole, that's a huge challenge for me. I have a poultry genetics book and each time I pick it up, I end up more frustrated than the last.

Okay, so all this talk of my olive egger stock laying brown eggs.....makes me ticked!

And it's weird, because I've hatched probably 50 or 60 of my own, and NONE of mine have laid anything but olive. Darnit anyway! I did have several single-combed cockerels that I ended up selling as I didn't need them, so perhaps if they'd been pullets, they'd have laid brown?

Hey, friends.....I'm very, very sorry - I've gotten a couple PMs from folks wondering if I'm upset with them. NO! I'm not upset with anyone for anything said!! I didn't phrase it well, instead of saying "all this talk of my olive egger stock laying brown eggs makes me ticked" - I should have explained that I'm NOT ticked at "the talk" I'm ticked that I have stock out there not laying olive green eggs. Again, I'm not upset with anyone, I just phrased my comment poorly...so...
