I have more that have hatched, hoping tomorrow they will all be out and I can clean the brooder and get pics before they go in. I just thought to myself. I have NO MORE ROOM in the coops and some need to go... But thats good ole chicken math

I have SEVERAL roosters as well, just can't make them dinner and really don't want to keep feeding them

Thats just part of my animal love, too many chickens and not enough time or room

Very cute!! I don't know much about olive eggers but that I believe they are crosses. Do any of these crossing end in light colored hens? My only olive egger is black. She's darling but I'd like some eggs to hatch that won't result in black chicks

I have a solid white olive egger. I don't know the pairing, but I think she may have had a white marans. She is not laying yet but soon

Oliver eggers can come in a variety of colors. They are the result of any Blue Egg Layer breed crossed with any Brown(preferably dark brown) Layer breed. Doesn't matter which is the hen/roo... As far as I understand - no expert by any means...

May I join in here - I just picked up two chicks from a local woman who breeds her BCM with Standard Araucana and sells olive eggs on eBay. She had some chicks and I asked if I could purchase a couple as brooder mates for my AC chick that hatched alone. They are now 6 days old.

So, not sure if these two are mixes or not as she picked them from her own flock that recently hatched - when/how would I know what breed/sex?

Here's the one we call Smokey

And here's the other we call Bandit

I also have a solid white olive egger he is a cross between a BCM X Americauna hen and a BCM rooster. Yet his brother looks just like a BCM with a pea comb. Something about a recessive white gene. I just thinks he is good looking!
too bad he's gotta go, I have too many roosters.
