The Olive-Egger thread!

THis makes total sense. For my breeding, the boy is a blue, and only 2 hens are white and 5 are reds/browns. SO the blue/black can dominate over the reds but not when dominant white is present. Which is why the chicks look like the calf leghorns. YIPPEE, I have an answer-- THere eggs will be blue! Need the blues to make olives right?

I've been meaning to share a pic of this girl. She's a FBCMxBlue EE. I think I'm still a month or 2 away from eggs...

is that pic accurate? The olive egg and Marans are nice too.

My Wheatens lay the bluest eggs I have, but not that BRIGHT and BLUE!

They are peachick line eggs. I was pretty shocked when I found them laying in the coop. I hadn't even set up a nestbox for the 2 girls. First eggs are always the prettiest. I could not even find a matching shade on the ABC egg color chart! The color is more intense.

Great looking eggs, how old are those BW pullets? I think I was in that auction,,,,congrats!

I got 0% hatchrate from that auction that I won. These eggs came from 2 pullets that are 21 weeks old. I got these girls from madelynbelle eggs. I have quite a few pullets that are growing out now that are from chicken junkies.
