Wasps and hornets hate those heavily scented dryer sheets. Tack them up or around where the chickens can't get them but near the wasps.

We have lots of wasps here and I found my solution in the coop and stalls by accident. A feed store will sell those big gold flysticks and really words on those wasps. I haven't had any issues since I started using them. I have no flies in the coop so it doesn't get clogged with them, and I use a long stick to knock down any nests when I first put it up.
