Star remembered Jessie, "Oh! I gotta get the antidote before she goes 'Takwinda'!!!" She went into the forest and got wild roses, pure water, and got a hawk feather from herself. "Ok, boil the water, add ingredients, give to drink..." She finished the potion and gave it to Jessie. "Jess? You ok?"

Mali opened her eyes. "Max?" she asked, her voice rasping. She brushed her hair back and sighed. She closed her eyes again. Then she jerked. "Somethings wrong with Tawenhoek." Mali jumped from her bed, then hit the floor, according to her broken foot. She tried to get up. "Tawenhoek!" she cried.
