She sat on the bed and held her knees, and cried herself to sleep.

Star woke before dawn to do the morning hunting. But before she left, she placed a note by Adam's bed. It said,
Dear Adam,

I am sorry about how I acted yesterday. Can you forgive me?
The reason I acted like that was because...I'll tell you later, but I'm sorry.
