The Peeps are here...some bad news. -UPDATE-I am at a loss...HELP! :o(

Sorry Pedro, that stinks! I am secretly relieved that my April chicks are being sent to my friends house and I will pick them up after SHE opens the box.

Alas, Lucky was not so lucky after all...

I went to have dinner with friends and it looked OK but still laying down in hat. I made sure it was drinking water and put food in there...just in case.

When I got home (couldn't get here fast enough) and went to check on the poor thing, it just looked at me, tensed up...and keeled over.

There I sat, with a dead chick on my hands...and my feelings getting the best of me. What a sight!

UGH!

I was hoping real hard that Lucky would live...

PS It looks like one of the BRs is not doing too good. :|

OMG i'm so sorry!!!
that's awful.
watching any animal die is heart-wrenching but to see baby animals die is horrid.

the pic of you with your new babies is adorable. how nice to see big tough guy gettin' all silly-happy over baby chicks. it's very sweet!

hang in there.

I am so sorry to hear about lucky and one of the BR!! That's the only bad part about baby chicks is when one dies. I have a 12 yr old is so sensitive and it breaks my heart because I feel her pain.

I have 2 silkies living in my shop because of one of them almost didn't make it. Her name is Doris and then the other is Doris' Buddy (Buddy for short). She can't let them out at night to take a chance.
