it’s going to be an interesting weekend as it supposed to be the coldest weekend of winter here. Today has been hovering in the 20’s with freezing rain. I had to de-ice the gate locks to even get near the aviary. We have power so far it stays that way. the net is holding. several budgies were still outside on the perches at dusk though which was scary. i had mr muddy go out to make sure they weren’t frozen solid

I'm thinking I might cover my cages with a towel.

when we first had the really bad cold spell, the alcohol babies were just fledglings so we caught everyone at night and put them inside and covered the hole with a towel but at this point they are going to have to be smart enough to go inside on their own!! I’m only going out in the even of a power outage or other catastrophe
