The perfect Backyard Bird?

Marans, Welsummer, Barnvelders should all lay dark brown eggs. Although it's important to not let egg color be more important than body construction (for meat and egg production)
The only eggs I've seen that dark in my life were Penedesenca and Marans.
I've had very dark eggs from Welsummers but I doubt anyone has seen an egg that dark from a Barnevelder.

They are Maran eggs iirc but I do not remember which

My copper blues produce eggs similar to these.
Albeit a tad darker at the beginning of the season.
For those that do not know the "scrape" marks are because the brown coating is excreted over the shell as they egg is laid so is fairly vulnerable to damage in the nest before it dries

The same is true of Pene eggs but some of the color is in the shell as it is with a blue egg.

Below are my Penedesenca eggs with a Jaerhon egg.
