Dunch (Golden Buff): She steals the worms right out of Linner's beak, but becomes submissive when I go to pet her. A worm hunter, for sure -- she always find the biggest, juicest worms in the yard. Bad beak-eye coordination in spite of her worm killer status. Always has to shove her way to the front to get food. Tolerates being picked up and petted, she usually only wants to jump up on me when Linner is sitting on my arm. She knows that the hoe = worms, and comes when I motion to her. Fearless and goofy at the same time. Last night she jumped on my arm, walked to my shoulder and wiped her beak in my hair -- charming ;P
Linner (Silver Laced Wyandotte): A dainty lady with deadly accuracy when she chomps on my arm. A little more skittish than Dunch, but is trained to jump up to my arm when I tap it and will sit on me calmly. Allows Dunch to take food from her without too much of a fight and doesn't eat quickly. I secretly think Dunch is the poison taster for Linner as Linner first watches Dunch eat any new foods before trying them herself. Purrs quietly at night when they're in the coop together. Softer feathers.
