The Pita Pinta Asturiana

More pita pinta news that I can't read!

It's a clip saying 23 breeders met with a national judge to have an exhibition to increase awareness of the breed and it mentions a slaughter house, but I'm not sure if the context means they have reclaimed a slaughter house already or if the idea was brought back to the table at their meeting. :)

Edit: it was a slaughter house acquired specifically for their production. I clarified myself hah.

They look great!

The legs are nice and yellow too. Are they laying eggs?

No, not right now -- I don't expect them to start again until after the solstice. Odile is finishing up a hard molt, and Odette is kind of broody at the moment. She is also molting, but much more gradually. I did notice Odile eating some oyster shell today, though, so I wondered if maybe she is thinking about laying an egg.

It would not surprise me if she laid an egg. They do lay eggs in the winter.

My Pita Pintas are looking great after their molt. They have their yellow back in their legs--That will go away in a couple of months as they start laying again:
