I was leaning that direction as well. Debi says the dudes quickly get larger than the females, so I'll see what happens in the next few weeks.

Yes, you will know in a couple weeks.I was leaning that direction as well. Debi says the dudes quickly get larger than the females, so I'll see what happens in the next few weeks.
Do you have a pic of them together? I see more pink in #2's comb but that could be the lighting.
I think they switch from white to black or from black to white. And here are some pics of the 2 1/2-3 week old chicks that just went out into my Quail 1 brooder.
The chick in the middle is one of my favorites and I'm pretty sure is is a he. He has only a small amount of black on him and his head is completely white. I need to mark him so I can keep an eye on his development.
LOL! I guess we will see. That hasn't been what I've noticed but I'll watch this one closely! I have a pullet who hatched with 3 cockerels. She was the lightest in color with the least amount of black and has stayed that way. She is close to POL and I'm hoping that she will be a good addition to my breeding flock.I think they switch from white to black or from black to white.
In other words, the chicks with more black at hatch will have for white as adults. I could be completely wrong though.
Exciting!!!Candling tonight .
