The Pita Pinta Asturiana

Pics
Hi Debi,
Your chicks that I hatched are perfect right now.
That's good to hear, Catherine! I am headed out to deliver 12 PP eggs to a friend who has a broody Jersey Giant. She plans on giving the chicks back to me after the broody mama is finished with them. I bet she falls in love with them and keeps at least 1!

Ron, so the white legs and the crooked keels are genetic? Have you had any birds with blue eyes? I'm wondering since I've only had 1 bird with them if it was a mutation and not something passed down genetically.
The white legs are genetic--yellow is dominant so white legs are double recessive.

The Keel is likely genetic since you had a bunch of them with it. I have not seen it yet with mine though. I will be checking closely when I process this year. I do not feel it in the chicks so far.

So, I think this is totally amazing. My brilliant PhD student, who is writing a dissertation on medieval poetry and falconry, hand painted this batik scarf for me featuring Odette and Odile. She secretly contacted my family to get pictures of the girls on which to base her paintings.

Beautiful! What an amazing gift.

Good Friday morning! Just wanted to share a couple of pics of the first Pita Pinta chick to hatch in my new to me Brinsea Octagon. This was 2 hatches ago but I just downloaded the pics to my computer.

This was not too long after he hatched. He spent almost a whole day by himself.

This is almost a day later when he finally has a friend.
