The Playground (Anna’s chat thread v2)

For my moms birthday today, we visited a botanical garden. It was very lovely although large parts of it were under construction. My favorite part, though I don’t have pictures, was this pond that had tons of wildlife. I saw snakes, bullfrogs, red winged blackbirds, herons, muskrats, dragonflies and a huge snapping turtle.
In one of the gardens there was some stonecrop succulents. One of the pieces had broken off, so naturally I took it :) (If you haven’t seen my old houseplant thread, I love ‘stealing’ fallen leaves and broken cuttings from stores and taking them home to propagate. I learned it’s called ‘proplifting’).

Here’s my new llama pot from the gift shop!

I transplanted my little Gasteria from a big pot (which I plan to un-plant and then replant eventually), as well as my newly adopted stonecrop and a few baby succs I propagated from Home Depot leaves!
I think I might decorate the pot a bit more with some pretty crystals or pebbles or something.

That is the cutest little succulent in your flower pot -- the one on the right. It's so cute!
And a happy birthday to your mother! May she be blessed with many more.

Thank you for the compliment and well wishes! I’ll pass it on!

I decided to add an extra sparkle to my pot...these little crystal things came in another pre-planted terrarium, but while transporting it in the car, it dumped everywhere. The plants still look ok but since their soil is trashed I’ll move them somewhere else. I’m fast running out of planters though....

I have to make mom a birthday card now. Bye!

There’s a botanical gardens near my house. We are members. It is so cool!

My brother has kept a beautiful succulent planter 2 years and decided to show it at the fair. Well he put it outside on the ground for five minutes so we could move our flower exhibits to the car and the geese decided to chow down on the cactus and propeller plants. 2020 aftersight. 😭 well those geese will get eaten themselves soon. Guess it’s just their way of getting revenge.
