Nice male.....do you have lights on your girls?
Yes, they have 12 hours right now. I don't want to push it to 14 because I have to manually turn them on and off, and I like to get ready for bed at a decent hour.. They are lighted from around 7am (depending on if I am working or not.. 7:30 the sun rises and they get light that way, and I flick lights off around 7:30 pm -7:45pm.

I did get 3 eggs from the Rocks yesterday. Best so far. I think there are 9 girls in that pen with Jagger....

Thanks too :) You picked him out. Almost decided against him because his tail wasn't growing in as fast as the others, but his type is the best. He is very wide. You were right. Thanks for that :)

You may remember him from this picture.

I always add light early AM, not in the PM (so the birds dont get caught off the roost). Mine go on at 330am, off at 830am (it took a few weeks to increase it to that point). Mine are on a cheap timer from Lowes

I have Proper lighting though.. You need to turn it on and off with a light switch. I can't get up that early. Thankfully they can see to get back to the roosts when I flick it off. We have an outdoor automatic light that goes on. it leaves just a slight ability to see where you are walking inside the barn when it's dark.

Thanks!!

I remember this guy. He had it going on even then. He's what you were hoping for and more.
So very happy for you Justine.

On the lights? I gotta say that our weather is so stinkin' bad that I honestly do not care. I committed to not hatching until late February this year, well in advance. Turns out that it was a good decision. The winter has been just cold, cold and little break and then more cold.

You all have not had it as bad, but watch out for the end of the week, it may shift your way.

I sure hope not. December was the worst I have ever seen it. We have been lucky so far with January. It's about to change already. Blizzard tomorrow. I'm going to have to work from home and take care of the snow removal. It would be better if I had proper equipment to do so.

These ones I just put on won't hatch until mid February. I may be crazy.. I really need to make some money to pay for this hobby. :p

Brrr. We're also waiting til end of Feb. to start setting eggs.

I only have one young pair of BRs so my breeding decision is made. (I have to work with what I have this year.) But I have a question about my XW/GSBR line cockerel. He's approaching 8 months and still no saddle. I know they're slow to develop, but is that normal for this line?
