Just got the best early Christmas present: a 3D chicken model! (Next to a Plymouth Rock Fanciers membership that is.)

Comes with a "chicken assembly guide." We only had 2 extra pieces when finished. Lol
Yayyyyyy!! You found the nuggets that McDonalds sells.

Here's a little pullet amongst the Labor Day testing mating hatch I've kept an eye on from the beginning.

Here she is outside in late September, at 3 weeks old

Here she is again at 6 weeks old.

And today, at 15 weeks.

The difficulty with a fall hatched chick is that she won't be ready to breed until April, maybe. This lessens the number of chicks I could potentially hatch from her this year.

Ah, but you'll have chicks from "my" (really yours!) hen to go along with your pullet. And yours is really pretty! :)

Here's the three F1 ladies who are in full bloom and full on lay. These were hatched in May of this past year. They are all scrunched up in this photo as I took it when the temp was −4F. LOL

I'll bring you one or two of these pullets and that promised cockerel (11 months give/take) in March and we can rock 'n roll.

Ken, cannot wait until spring. Winter is taking a very brief, temporary break this weekend, but come next week, we're slated to head into deep, deep January polar sub-zero deep freeze. Brutal. Hard to do more than dream about spring as Jan and Feb are so harsh up here.

Keep those gorgeous birds healthy. I know you are!!!
Best always,
Fred
