The predator that flies

I have had hawk problems - but the hawks can’t pick up the chickens (or carry them far). They have tried to carry them off but haven’t been able to (saw an attack from kitchen window). I’ve had dead chickens left behind, with the hawk returning to it later.

It was all within 2 weeks sorry I did not clarify that
One at a time?
Bummer :(
Hawks could have easily carried off bantams and sebrights.
But how are you sure it was a flying predator?
Time to stop ranging was after the first(or second)got taken.

I lost 2 hens last night to a predator. Their heads were completely missing and no other body parts were touched. The run has electric netting around it. No sign of something digging under the fence and no visible animal tracks. The bodies were stiff so I supposed it happened during the middle of the night, but the bodies were outside the coop and the hens should have been in the coop sleeping. I don’t think they come out at night. I suppose an owl but he certainly did not go into the coop and drag the hens out. Huh.
