these poor people are adults, and we have been warned by sherifs dept that even a gunshot in the air is against the law and WE will be the ones arrested. They do not remember that a dog can bite,and the people taking care of them just don't care.None of our dogs will bite, not even my pitt, and we do have signs up, but like the sheriff said they can't read and it is our responsibility to keep them off our property.But what can you do with an adult with the mind of a 2 year old, just turn them around and say go home and hope they do.Sorry Suz, seem to have hijacked your thread, didn't mean to, Your doing a good job, DON'T BACK DOWN marrie

Suz Congrats for standing up for yourself! Sometimes it feels really great doesnt it! Be prepared I am sure she will come back more ferocious (sp) then before. Just stay calm and remember its your property and your in the right.

Sundance you have got to be kidding me....Its YOUR responsibility to keep them off! Its not like your a construction zone... I'd check out the laws for you area and then make copies of the said laws to show to the sheriff if you have to call on them again. Sometimes you have to be the educator to law enforcement.

this is cannon co tennessee. when they built the new jail, they put the windows on the inside of the cells, took several inmates walking away for them to decide that the screws belong on the outside of the windows.We also have a phone number for animal control, but we don't have one since the co. doesn't have the money.thats cannon co. need i say more. marrie Suz, you need to have a block party and somehow lose your neighbors invite.Stand your ground, remember you have 30,000 people behind you. get her e mail add and we can all flood her with emails saying no no

Poor Sundance... that's a much more worrisome problem than mine. Personally, I agree with Rillian. Trespassing is illegal... doesn't matter who is doing it, and the caretakers of the disabled adults need to be responsible for them. Filing an injunction might wake up the law enforcement. You need to protect yourself.

Thanks for all the support everyone! Haven't heard back from Sylvia yet. I'm sure she's sitting in front of her cauldron, stirring up another batch of trouble. But I'm staying tough. Block party over here once she melts into a puddle of water.

I used to be the same way, hated conflict. But some conflict in life is necesary; you can disagree nicely, which you did! Feels so good, doesn't it?

BTW, I read a book called "Boundaries" that changed my life, I highly recommend it. Wish I'd read it 25 years ago.

Check your laws and make sure you are within them, tell her to stop feeding stray cats because skunks LOVE cat food and to lose your phone number and keep her daughters at home until she can pay when she drops them off. Be done with them.
