Is anybody here a fan of The Princess Bride, book or movie? I just finished what must be my 50th re-watch, and enjoyed it just as much!

Okay, I can't type out The Princess Bride once every sentance. I announce a new abbreviation: "TPB"!

Normally, I say the book is always better. But with TPB I consider them both equally great!

So... Who is your favorite character? Favorite scene? Favorite quote?

I absolutely favourite line/quote in the movie

My favorite character...mmm. I think I gotta say Fezzik.

Favorite scene. Probably the fight between Inigo and Westly, the Battle Of Wits, Miracle Max's house, or Inigo shouting his line at the Count (six-fingered man).

Favorite line is probably the hardest of all! I don't think I can choose between:
  • "Inconceivable!"
  • "I know something you don't know, I am not left-handed!"
  • "Funny, time's little quirks. I must admit that sometimes they confuse me too." (or something like that)
  • "Anybody want a peanut?"
  • "Drop. Your. Sword."
  • "My name is Inigo Montoya! You killed my father, prepare to die!"

Am I dreaming? Did somebody seriously start a thread about the best movie and book ever made? This is, by far, my favorite movie. I must have seen it over a thousand times!
You beat me, just by a little! :highfive: Glad to find another fan!

Because you have read the book, how do you think they compare? Pros and cons? What do you think about the ending?

I think my favorite scene is when Buttercup lets Prince Humperdink have it! When she says she knows he didn't send the four ships and goes into her tirade, I love it! And my hubby made this sign for me a few years ago for Christmas. And our song is Storybook Love, we danced to it at our wedding 12 years ago. Speaking of that song, my hubby also had the music printed out as another gift to me for our anniversary last year. Can you tell I love this movie?!
