Another vote for tearing out the carpet here- we are not going to have any wall-to-wall carpeting in our new house at all; just area rugs.

Wall-to-wall carpeting is nice when it's new, but it's impossible to keep really clean, and there is something about carpeted corners of a room that is just a magnet for pet stains!

Yep, me too, tear out the icky, soon to be smelly carpet. Maybe some pretty ceramic tile instead?

The fans are going. The restoration company stopped by to check the humidity levels and said that they would be back Monday to check again. Waiting...

You know that carpet will grow mold spores......ceramic tile would be so pretty!! I've also seen brick used for flooring in a big room like that and it was really nice too.
