lildinkim I didn't know that white orpingtons were in danger. I have a white pair of orps that I got from Sandhill. I was going to sell Casper as he hates me big time. I have just been waiting for him to throw off another white roo. Maybe I should put up with him trying to disimbowl me everytime I go into the coop. lol

Yeah Micki, the number of reliable quality breeders for White Orps is almost nonexistant. I am a rookie to chickens. Last spring I bought a nicer Black Orp from a local guy here in INDY. It was a pullet. And liked her so much I thought I would make a concerted effort to get a Black Orp cockerel, just to have them around for a while. And to keep having nicer Blacks. And let me tell you, there are very few good quality breeders of Blacks, yet alone Whites. I like to have several bloodlines in my flock to assure proper genetics and assure future fertility, it isn't easy finding many DIFFERENT White Orp breeders. Aside from Sandhill, I know of only three, who I would like to have. I first, just have to get caught up on my Black and Buff Orpington projects. Hatching out a bunch of chicks before the winter hits.

I'm starting a Chocolate Orpington bantam project soon. My future breeders are still young, so it will be a while before I'll actually get to officially start.

I am going to start breeding Buff Laced Wyandottes and Buff Columbian Wyandottes soon.

I am working on about 10 new or relatively new colors of cochins. chocolate, porcelain, blue mille and blue wheaten to name a few.

At my mothers we are working on dunlaced wyandotte bantams and crele phoenix bantams. So far the dunlaced is about set, the crele project threw some unexpected chicks which was fun. I have many project plans in mind but no where to work on them right now. Its always nice to dream though, lol.

I dont mean to burst anyones bubble but there is no such thing as an american Onagadori. There are Onagadori in Japan and only Phoenix in the USA. I have been raising them for years and have 3 different lines with different concentrations of Onagadori blood in them. Project birds I am working on: a rumpless tufted lavender Araucana. I have different combinations of birds with tufts, rumpless, but not quite there yet, however close. Many thanks to Harry Shaffer and Charlie & Jody Hinks.
