I am familiar with many a chicken noise, (The chicken alarm, the boiling tea kettle sound, the regular clucking/honking, the unnerving velociraptor noise of a broody hen not wanting to be petted), but the purring trill is new to me. I have an 11.5 week old partridge rock that does this. I like to sit down and hold and pet the little ones so they will grow up to be friendly, social ladies like my others. Three of them tolerate it, but the partridge rock seems to actually enjoy it. She will happily sit in my lap and let me pet her and proceed to make this purring trilling noise. And then while doing that she likes to scrape and grab my shirt with her really sharp beak (which feels awesome when wearing a thin shirt -___- ). Once the shirt plucking starts it's time to put her down before she draws blood from trying to make a nest out of my clothes.
Other than the pain of a chicken pecking at my side, it's quite cute what she does. I just wanted to know if anyone else has a chicken(s) that likes to cuddle and purr.
And a picture just because I can. She is bottom left btw.
