Yes, they do. The Council of Eligible Egg-Laying Hens, Rulers of the World (no pullets allowed) voted to stop laying completely when I did not immediately remove the snow from the premises. I told them it would take me several weeks to clean up the mess and they started laying again earlier this month.

Yes, very much so. All my layers stayed in their coop not even venturing into the snowy pen all day. The meat birds were so cute, they couldn't walk in the snow so they flew/hopped.
