Seagulls. I love their charactwr as well, but also their intelligence. Once, I threw a piece of corn into the air while a seagull was perched on a lampost, and it waited until the people passed by then ate the corn.

Trapping, if you also would consider coons and groundpigs, is a big YES!

Yes to hunting, no to trapping, (unless trapping minnows in a creek and leeches in a pond counts. I haven't trapped minnows in a few years now though because all my traps were stolen. )
