Hoping somebody is awake... hatching my first batch of coturnix quail... out of 20 eggs that went in 9 looked viable and after culling the rest a few are starting to move around. I of course forgot to put a paper towel or cloth down because the hatch sort of snuck up on me... will they be okay on the wire? Using a hovabator... temp is at 99 degrees. I’m aftaid to open it and change the temp/humidity.

Good morning! He looked like his feet were getting stuck so I opened it up like lightning and put some paper towel in... it’s hot as hell here, so I don’t think it made a difference. Praying it’s okay...

Thanks so much! Please post pics of yours!! This is day 19 so a little late... his toes appear to be curled, so we’ll see if it self corrects. It has been crazy hot so that may have impacted the hatch. Really hoping more pop out...

Last night three of the eggs were visibly moving around... looking closely now, none of the remaining eggs have movement. Worried the others didn’t pip in time and ran out of air :(
