For me, it's their wheel. That thing is loud.

I gave mine Silent Spinners. Those were so much better. I mean they still hop/run so you get a rhythmic thumping, but that's way better than a normal wheel.

I'll have to look into those if I ever get chinchillas again. Mine are old, so they're not as active.

MIne got free time to run around too until the boys started getting into mischief and I had the male that was allergic to dog dander so if he was on the floor he'd have seizures. It was so weird.

I let mine loose in the bathroom while I'm with them. That way I can stop them from chewing on the drywall and they get some freedom.

My girls never chewed drywall, but boy howdy the males did. They were trouble makers. The lot of them.

One of mine could use his little hands to undo c-clamps and nuts/bolts. He escaped at the pet store because they didn't close his cage the right way. He chewed into the drywall and lived in the pet store loose for like two weeks before they caught him.
