The Rainforest. Its gotta stop.

How old are you now?

just wondering....sounds like you are very sensitive to your issues.
There are many ways to proceed actually.
Different levels to work for the good of the rainforest and more.

Worry about maintaining freedom. It's almost gone

truer words have never been spoken. down right scary. SCARY.

Trust me, the things that are being said now are not the same as when we were younger and I am not the type to believe something that is not backed by evidence and research. I think we are about the same age, Wifezilla. When I was younger, the focus of ecology was about not polluting, don't start forest fires, etc.... it was not nearly in the same ballpark of the concrete evidence of today. Things have changed a lot in the last twenty years. A LOT. I will say it again, there is literally a mass of trash the size of a COUNTRY floating in the ocean. That is very real and concrete. It is also something that has just developed to gargantuan size in the last 20 years. There is nothing political or fraudulent about it. It is reality.

Believe me I feel the same way about the enviroment. I want to do wildlife rehab when I get older. I'm in Biology now and tried to get into Zoology but the class was full so I ended up in Astronomy

. You could try volunteer work at a local zoo or wildlife center. We have the Great Plains Nature Center here where you can volunteer.

I love that their are more around my age that actually care. Seems like no one does.

And it kills me.

If this is fact, are there any satellite images or fly over photos of this? I have never seen any. Anybody ever seen it on Google Earth? It would be easy to spot if it is that large, and if it is really there. Just wondering if anyone has ever ACTUALLY laid eyes on it.

DO not take this young person's post into an environmental battle of reality or fake.

This person just wants to know how they proceed into this field of work. Seriously, being adults, we shouldn't be hijacking this younger person's thread of a good career path etc. into a war about the environment.

Help this person with a response about how to further educate themselves into this career. That is all the OP was asking.

Excuse you...I was asking a simple question about something I have never heard about, NOT making issue with it. If it's there I want to know where. Got a pic to share?!?!?! THANK YOU! Jeez!

that wasn't directed at you personally for your post.

I was saying to all (as a group)....don't use this as an environmental debate.

start a separate thread if you want to debate on this subject.

Is that US dumping grounds? It's off the coast of Cali. Why not reclaim and recycle? And Thank You for answering my question without getting offended.
