The rare Mole Chicken...

    I just looked outside and saw one of my chickens buried himself up to his neck in soil and leaves! It's very hot here today, I guess the nice cool soil felt good. He's such a silly bird. I wish I'd gotten a pic, but he hopped up when I went near.

    I have a black australorp that does that! The other two hens (white rock and BO) will be out scratching around and I'll start looking for her...sure enough under the trees at the edge of the woods buried in dirt and leaves. She LOVES it and it's so cute to see her fluffing the leaves up around herself...
