The RE-Build of Les Farms

You can whitewash straight over the kilz--what has taken me so long to do the coop, was finding info on whitewashing over paint. Dairy barns here still whitewash, scrub down yearly, then re-coat with whitewash. the only drawback I can find is getting a white marks on your clothes. I think the benefits make it all worth it for me. Far cheaper, no build up, mite and antibacterial resistant. If you don't want white there are things you could add to tint it.
I'll consider it. Just seems like a lot of work to make. Might do it just for the pens. I don't see how the work to do it would be justified for the hallways though :)

Would it stain clothing? I'm notorious for not changing after work. I just wear work clothes to do chores. I always get dirty but the dirt doesn't stain. Would the white wash stain?

From what I have been reading, just like chalk after its dried. i don't know about stains when painting. I mixed some up to paint my nest boxes with ( did not get to as the person building the coop and box messed up and I got the boxes 3 days late, and the coop not at all and the hens were at home by then--this is after waiting 2 weeks) took like 15-20 minutes to mix up, faster if you buy a paint mixer for your drill.

Not worried about stains while painting :) I will probably try this, though not right away as we are pushed for time. Goats coming home Friday night, 35 chicks arriving Sunday.. :D

We primed the brooders and brooder room today. SO MUCH BETTER!!! I won't need four coats! Maybe two! :D
