~*~The Rebellion - RP~*~

"I'm Austin, and that's Neytiri. She's a shapeshifter." He held out his hand "Welcome to the Central Rebels. The raiders you saw were almost a quarter of our raiding party, but they got the supplies we needed before getting caught. Follow me." Austin led the way to the mess hall. "You're probably hungry."

"Thanks. I had a feeling you guys still wouldn't trust us." he said before turning to his team. "Sinker, Jumper, Boost; you guys take some of the raiders and go see if you can't get our friends back from that prison camp." Before long, the three boys he'd addressed had already chosen 5 of their raiders and disappeared in the brush heading towards the North-East. Seth motioned for the rest of the team to follow Austin before he did too.

"Cool; but first, there's something I think you're going to want to see." He pulled his costomized .30-06 long-range rifle off his back and put the butt of the gun in the nook of his shoulder. "You see that target way down there?" he said, gesturing towards a old, 3-foot diameter, wooden archery target nailed to a large oak about 600 yards away. As he brought the gun to bear on the target, he said "Watch this." He sqeezed the trigger and the round left the barrel at more than 3,200 feet per second. At this speed, it took only 1.7 seconds for the bullet to reach the target. There had been an arrow in the bulls-eye of the target before Seth had fired, but not when the bullet hit home; not only did the round hit the tip of the arrow--after going through the middle of the knock and the whole shaft I might add--hard enough to cause the metal casing open up like a sunflower, but it also hit the target itself hard enough to make the whole thing split into several different slices--much like a pie chart--and then keep going out the other side of the tree. Seth lowered the gun, barrel smoking like a bundle of wet pine nettles thrown on a fire, and half-jokingly said "Ya think that might come in handy?"

Austin whistled, "Wow...That will definitely come in handy when in battle..."

"Yeah, thanks for breaking my arrow," Neytiri snarled, her tail lashing.
"It's okay, here." he said, pulling 3 home-made arrows out of his pack. He tossed them to her and said "You can have these, I made those about 2 years ago. That was before I had this gun, so I was still using a bow. Those are flamingo feathers on the ends, I've tried a lot of other things but I've found there are few things that work better as fins."
