This brings new meaning to "peer pressure".

Doesn't it though?! I think Niki and Sam should give everyone one quail chick and tell them, "This is just a sample of what we offer....you'll love it. When you're ready for more, you know where to find us."

Niki mine is actually a hen. Also the birds you have look a lot like the bird that I'm trying to breed for called Chocolate.

Lavander. Yes there has to be *because* there IS blue in coturnix. However, I've only read/seen a blue coturnix in scientific breedings where they discuss the color genetics of coturnix. So if theres blue, theres lav.

I will be working with blue downed chicks come November....however these birds are ONLY blue downed as chicks... so it's still a project thingaling :)And yes Sam sells silly

(My golden roo Hawn is from his original stock, then he sold out and just reciently got back into them)!

Well I need to learn more about the lavander gene before I even get close to attempting getting self blue (aka lav) from blue

Then again I ALSO have to get my blue downed chicks and work on making a BLUE bird before i can get to that point! Buuuuuutt you betcha! May take me a few years (i can imagine...trial and error) but it'll be fun! Blue is, after all, my favorite color!
