The rehoming a rooster thread

Pics
Hey, are ya sure it’s a roo? I had a buff Orpington hen and she had a bigger comb than my rooster lol
Well they haven’t started to crow yet so I should probably wait, right? I just assumed since he/she has the reddest and most pronounced comb of the flock. But I suppose it’s worth waiting a bit to be sure!

I am hoping to find a new home for our rooster.

Location: San Marcos, CA (San Diego North County)
Roosters name:
Breed: Buff Orpington
Weight:
Age: 11 months
Size: large :)
About rooster (roosters personality, why you need to rehome this rooster, etc.):
He is the main rooster of the flock. (We have a second rooster, too, Salmon Faverolle which could also be available for re-homing if there is interest). He takes good care of the flock and has never shown any signs of aggression towards anybody, including my kids. He is full size, young and active. Reasons for re-homing: 1) i need to downsize my flock a little, 2) the rooster is just a bit too big and active for my hens. About half of my flock is smaller size hens. More and more I notice they are running away from him. The hens are older and I think the rooster just overwhelms them with his vigor and size, too.

I see so many threads about roosters that sadly need to be rehomed that go unanswered and the roosters are likely slaughtered. That's why I decided to make the rooster rehoming thread. On this thread you can post about your rooster that needs to be rehomed and if someone is looking to find a rooster they can post on this thread. Its that simple!

Here's a form I recommend you fill out about your rooster that needs to be rehomed:

I have 2 roosters to rehome. My original flock was decimated by raccoons, except for 2 roosters! I have received 10 more chicks and 1 is a rooster. So, I believe I should rehome the orginal 2 and keep the new one that is the same age as the hens.

Location: SW Missouri
Breed: Production Reds
Name: 1st Picture - Louis 2nd Picture - Elmer
Weight: Unknown
Age: 4 1/2 Months
Price: Free

They eat out of my hand, follow me around the yard and are very entertaining. The only reason I am rehoming them, is I don't have enough hens to keep them busy and not enough room to get more hens.

About rooster (roosters personality, why you need to rehome this rooster, etc.): He's sweet. He lives with 12 hens and does the rooster dance. He does not like to get chased, but he does not attack (at least not yet).
