The results are in, they all lay green/blue! Pics *update w/pic page 2

Yeah, I don't know of any hatcheries that sell true Ameraucanas, you can just assume that they will all be mutts, or EE's. None really meet the qualifications for a true Ameraucana. If you want true Ameraucanas you need to go through a breeder . The Ameraucana Breeders club lists breeders that sell them.

You will have to let us know what color they end up laying.

Oh I will

Can't wait to see the pics of your Cackle girlies. I'll check back.

Oh, I see. Well, that's really neat. I'll have to look into it now. Along with Faverolles, Amereraucanas are one of my favorite breeds. Maybe I'll find a fairly close breeder to buy from.

But I'll love my confused little EE babies just the same!

I'm just so excited-it's my first experience with Ideal. I hope everything goes okay.

#2 Below:Olive isn't the prettiest EE(she is the only one that didn't have muffs and beard), but she lays a beautiful olive green egg!

#3 Below: This pretty girl is almost all white and flies the 8 ft fence almost every day(but she lets herself back in) I let my chickens free range every day, but not until about 4 hrs before dark.

ooh they are so pretty!!! We have two EE's and only one lays blueish eggs. The other one lays an almond colored one. I seriously want more...they are the sweetest birds!!

Lovely Birds! I especially like the colors on 1 and 3. Did they all look the same as day old chicks? So here are my votes--
1-Lily
3-Diana
4-Margaret
5-Annie

When we got our chicks, I googled chicken names and got a really great list! It was easy to pick some great names for our girls, Speckles, Hazel, Henrietta, Fiona, Pheobe, Cinnamon, Nutmeg (I think spice names are great for hens), Henny, Penny, Cotton and Candy.
They are beautiful!!
